• My husband and I are contemplating cruising "The Great Loop" and we both read this book as part of our research. The book contains twenty-five essays each written by a different experienced female cruiser. They all write lovingly about the experience but they also relate the negatives as well. Most of the writers started off unenthusiastic about the trip but in the end, all loved the experience. They helped allay my fears (Will I get bored? Will the cabin be too small? Can you cruise with a pet? Will we be able to buy groceries along the way? etc) They also offered loads of practical tips such as how to deal with bills and mail while cruising, things to consider when buying a boat, what to pack, favorite marinas etc. I now feel much more informed and comfortable planning our adventure. Thank you ladies!
• The book was helpful even if it wasn't what I thought is was going to be. More of the women are living on trawlers with many doing the great loop, rather than sailing or circumnavigating. But it is always good to hear the statistics and the happy stories and the good advice.
• A valuable resource and good read for those considering long-term cruising. If you want to learn more about cruising from a woman's perspective, this is a must read. Just as informative for men as women.
• I never considered what an adventure boating can be until I read these women boaters different perspectives on this unusual lifestyle. The stories were both humorous and informative. Well worth reading!
• Really enjoyed the knowledge I gained from these very interesting "admirals". Will read it again and take notes for our upcoming adventure.
